THE LAVAZZA ITALIAN FILM FESTIVAL 2009 10th annual Lavazza Italian Film Festival
Lavazza is the proud sponsor of the 2009 Italian Film Festival. This year is the Festival’s 10th anniversary, showing a selection of outstanding films from the Festival archives personally chosen by Antonio Zeccola, Festival Director.
In 2009, the festival’s outstanding tradition continues - with another brilliant selection of Italy's most highly acclaimed and multi-award winning contemporary films, sourced from the Cannes, Berlin, Rome and Venice Film Festivals.
Highlights include VINCERE from Marco Bellochio, this year's box office champion MANY KISSES LATER (Molti Baci Dopo), Marco Risi's stunning debut FORTAPÀSC, Pupi Avati's acclaimed GIOVANNA'S FATHER (Il papà di Giovanna) and Ferzan Oztepek's A PERFECT DAY (Un giorno perfetto).

Bugatti - Carlo Rembrandt Ettore Jean NGV International, St Kilda Road

Opening on 6 February 2009, the National Gallery of Victoria will present Bugatti: Carlo Rembrandt Ettore Jean, the first Australian exhibition to focus on the extraordinary Bugatti family.
Bugatti: Carlo Rembrandt Ettore Jean will comprise over 30 works across a range of media exploring the remarkable, creative output that emerged from this one family in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
The work of the Bugatti family – three generations of Italian craftsmen, artists and designers – is as diverse as it is original. The exhibition will include furniture by Carlo (1856-1940); sculpture by Rembrandt (1885-1916); as well as cars by Ettore (1881-1947) and son Jean (1909-1939).

16th January 2009 from 7-10pm, just in time to kick off professional tennis’ return to Melbourne.
NAB Taste of Tennis Australia will provide guests with a rare chance to brush shoulders with their favourite tennis stars while sampling delicacies from Melbourne’s top restaurants.
In an intimate setting enabling guests to get up close and personal with household tennis names, players include Andy Roddick and other major international stars such as Peter Luczak, Tommy
Robredo, Flavia Pennetta, Bob and Mike Bryan, Justin Gimelstob, Chris Guccione, Alicia Molik,
Iveta Benesova, Vince Spadea and many others. Each player will be teamed up with an acclaimed local chef including Grand Hyatt Melbourne’s Jason Camillo, culinary star George
Calombaris of The Press Club, Ian Curley from European, Sarti’s Riccardo Momesso,
Maha’s Shane Delia and McWilliam’s Wines Peter Howard.
These doubles teams will delight guests with their cooking flair and create delectable dishes for those in attendance, all in an effort to raise funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia.

THE LAVAZZA ITALIAN FILM FESTIVAL 2008
Lavazza Italian Film Festival, now in its 9th exciting year is the best yet, reflecting the widely-reported resurgence of Italian cinema. With 24 new features selected from the recent Venice, Rome and Cannes International Film Festivals, and a special retrospective of 12 classic films from Rome's famous Cinecitta Studios, this festival is sure to attract patrons not only from the Italian community but also film, art and culture, key attributes to the Lavazza brand positioning.
There will be an Opening Night Gala in every state which will feature the Australian Premiere of the hugely anticipated HER WHOLE LIFE AHEAD (Tutta la vita davanti) 18+ from director Paolo Virzi (Caterina in the City).

'Go for your life' Festival of Cycling Incorporating: People’s Day at Albert Park:
An invitation is extended to all Melbournian's, to experience a festival of activities and entertainment at Albert Park. With something for everyone, the festival will be a celebration of the benefits of healthy activity. The aim of the 'Go for your life' Festival of Cycling is to promote an day of healthy participation for all cyclists and their families at Albert Park
The Festival is proudly supported by the Victorian Government through its ‘Go For Your Life’ initiatives and Parks Victoria.
The festival will incorporate a wide variety of cycling events, providing a mix of competitive cycle events, for elite, club, and corporate competitors, with families, schools and recreational cyclists are also encouraged to participate in the by participating in the Family Fun Ride and the ‘Go for your life’ One Hour Challenge.
In addition, a range of family entertainment and events involving many aspects of human powered locomotion, children’s activities, displays, expo’s, fitness, wellness and environmental education will be featured.

A fascinating new exhibition goes on display this month in Melbourne hosted by the National Gallery of Victoria. It's a journey through history looking at how the colour black has through fashion been associated with death, power, elegance, urbanity, subversion and sex appeal. The exhibition is on display at NGV Australia at Federation Square from 8th February to 24th August and at NGV International on St Kilda Road from 29th February to 31st August. Entry is free. MELBOURNE SPRING RACING CARNIVAL 2007
Melbourne Cup 2007 was an outstanding week for Lavazza. Everyday there was something exciting happening, from celebrity guest interviews, our very special guest Rachel Hunter and of course the Lavazza Long Black race on Cup Day.
